I’m the youngest of four kids and the only girl. When I came to Rosary Mary Doherty was appointed my big sister. Here is Mary greeting me at an alumni water polo game, and she will always be my sister. Now that I m a junior, I have a little sister of my own, and a whole bunch of other sisters for life that I have met at Rosary.

The experience and journey that I have been through at Rosary are almost indescribable. Rosary has given me a faith-filled foundation, an outstanding education, amazing opportunities, and taught me how to be an independent woman of God. But, the most priceless gift of all has been the bond of sisterhood that I have received. My Rosary sisters were my sisters through the toughest of times and I know these are bonds I can count on forever. The four years I spent at Rosary will be some of the most memorable years of my life.

I know I am blessed. I was given an education that allowed me to dream up whatever life I could possibly imagine for myself and know that it wasn’t far from reach – a little hard work, and the world really was my playing field. I wish every teenage girl were given the same gift. There really is no replacement for a solid foundation and a personal strength firm enough to lead you through whatever this life holds

Rosary taught me to be unafraid of my own potential. The supportive environment allowed me a welcoming and comfortable space in which I was able to take risks and learn from my mistakes. Choosing to attend Rosary honestly is the greatest decision I've ever made. Rosary made me, me.

Attending Rosary High School has empowered me in many ways. The teachers and administration gave me a dynamic foundation that I continually rely on each day. They truly prepared me for my new journey into college. Due to this, my transition was extremely smooth and easy. The relationships that I developed with my peers and teachers at Rosary continue to grow. I am so thankful that I was able to attend Rosary High School because I was encouraged to grow in my faith and my intellect. My four years at Rosary High School was truly a gift from God.

I came to Rosary from the public school system and as a member of the Episcopal Church and wondered how I'd relate in this small Catholic all girls school I came away with much more than I imagined. I loved my teachers and made deep friendships, and most importantly, developed a real relationship with God. This supportive environment has opened up my world. The high level of athletics that comes with competing in the Trinity League, plus learning from Rosary's dedicated athletes and coaches, has opened doors for me to play in college. I am going to Princeton University in the fall to study something terrific (perhaps World Religions or World Policy Development) and play water polo. I truly don't think I'd have the confidence to step onto this new road, if it wasn't for Rosary.

The most important life lesson Rosary has taught me is to be unafraid of my own aptitude. Through Rosary I learned to be outgoing, courageous, cordial, resourceful, a leader, and most importantly, myself.

I am surrounded by a class of girls dedicating themselves to learning as much as they can. Most, if not all, have a willingness to learn and that positive attitude has rubbed off on me. The teachers have a phenomenal relationship with their students, and I feel that they set a comfortable and fun learning environment. The challenging classes are helping me find the studying techniques that suit me the best. Rosary’s tough classes are not only helping me reach my potential, but they are also helping me expand it. Rosary is making me a better student.

Rosary has taught me that although it can be scary, branching out can be fun and ultimately very rewarding. I’m looking forward to next year’s Red & Gold, where I can once again be challenged to try something new and exciting.

Rosary High School has given me an incredible foundation. It has taught me how to form friendships, work to my best ability, and to be proud of who I am.

At Rosary, I was able to start small- by getting involved in International Club and a few others- and gradually built myself up to grander endeavors. These are things that I would have never done. Now I’m more open-minded and adventurous.

The many activities, clubs and service opportunities offered at Rosary have given me the chance to become more involved and outgoing. I am able to give back to the Royal community and share gifts and talents that God has blessed me with.

Catherine Flanagan
Entering high school, I never imagined that I would be so involved in my school community. The size of the school is perfect because it allows you to be involved in many different things and not just be the super smart kid or the athlete, but to be a dynamic person.

From the beginning, Rosary has consistently been pushing me to try harder, learn more, and strive to do better...Thanks to my teachers, I am confident now in my academic talents and in my ability to conquer any course, or rather any challenge, I am faced with in life.

Rosary has offered me so much more than I could have ever imagined a high school could offer a student. I have been taught so much outside of the books, about life and about being a better person in general. Rosary has offered me more than just a school, but a home and a place I can always turn back to. In the end, I am proud that I chose to attend Rosary, to become a Royal. For without Rosary, I would not have become the person I am today.
